Q. Do parents have to participate?
A: We believe that a parent is the child’s best teacher and so parental participation in class and at home is vital. For babies and toddlers, our classes are specifically designed to spark interaction between the parent and child, parents need to be active and role model. In our classes for older ages “Laugh & Learn” , the children spend most of the class with just the teacher, but parents are included in the last 10-15 minutes to do the sharing activities.
Q: I think my child is sick, should I come?
A:. If your child is sick, please be considerate of other children and adults in our classes and stay home to get better. Opportunities for makeup classes are available for any age appropriate classes.
Q: When should I arrive?
A: Please arrive about 5 – 10 minutes early in order to get them settle and socialize with other kids. There are always books or instruments for them to read or play with.
Q: What should I bring?
A: In order not to distract other children in the class, please keep toys, drink cups and snacks out of sight in the classroom. Please switch your mobile phone to silent. Parents participating in the babies class are asked to bring a blanket for their lap babies.
Q:What if my child doesn’t participate in class?
A : Children learn in different ways. Simply because a child appears shy in class, that doesn’t mean he or she is not learning. We hear from parents all the time whose children are quiet in class, but when they get home the child sings the songs and does the activities! Just remember that the home is the most important learning environment and you are your child’s most important teacher. The classroom is intended to give you tools to bring the music and learning home.
Q: Do I have to buy the Home Materials?
A: The home materials are already included in tuition fees and non-refundable. The home materials give parents the tools to extend the learning into the home. Frequent using the home materials is the most effective way to get the full Kindermusik experience and it will make a huge difference in a child’s comfort & participation in the classroom.
Q: I just found out about your Kindermusik classes and the class I would like to register for has already started. Is it too late to join?
“We have joined Kindermusik for 5 terms now and my daughter still loves it and she’s looking forward to come to the class (and to see Aunty Shanti) every week. The activities in the class are so enjoyable and appropriate for the age group. Looking forward to participate again next term. Thanks Shanti.”
